Who we are

Lintel is software for tradespeople, provided by PSA Studio (operated by Paul Smith, a sole trader based in Ayrshire, Scotland). In this policy, “we”, “us” and “Lintel” mean PSA Studio.

Two situations — please read this bit

Data protection works differently depending on how you’re using Lintel:

• When you visit this site, ask for a demo or trial, or hold a Lintel account — we are the “data controller”. This policy covers how we handle your data.
• When a tradesperson uses Lintel to run their own business, the records they enter about their customers belong to that business. There, the business is the controller and we only act on their behalf (a “processor”). If you’re a customer of a business that uses Lintel and want your details changed or removed, please contact that business directly — we’ll help them do it.

What we collect

• Account & business details — your name, email, phone, business name, trade, and your login (held by our authentication provider).
• Enquiry details — if you fill in our questionnaire, the answers you give plus your name, email, phone, trade and business name.
• What you put into the app — your customers, leads, quotes, jobs, invoices, certificates, and any messages you send to the Lintel assistant or bots.
• Messages — if you or your customers message a connected Telegram or WhatsApp number, we process those messages to run the feature.
• Payment details — handled by our payment provider. We don’t see or store full card numbers.
• Technical data — basic logs such as IP address and timestamps, to keep the service secure and working.

Why we use it (our lawful bases)

• To provide the service you’ve signed up for — performance of a contract.
• To answer enquiries and send your questionnaire results — your consent, or our legitimate interest in responding to you.
• To send you occasional updates about Lintel — your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• To keep Lintel secure, prevent fraud, and meet legal duties — our legitimate interests and legal obligations.

The companies that help us run Lintel

We use a small number of trusted providers (“processors”) to run the service. We don’t sell your data. They only process it to provide their part of the service:

Supabase	Database, login and file storage (hosted in the UK/EU — London region).
Netlify	Website hosting and server functions.
Anthropic (Claude)	The AI that turns your messages into draft admin (quotes, summaries). Your content is processed to provide the feature and is not used to train AI models.
Brevo	Sending our emails (your results, reminders, updates).
Twilio	WhatsApp messaging, where enabled.
Telegram	Messaging, if you connect the Telegram assistant.
Stripe	Payment processing, when billing is switched on.

Some providers may process data outside the UK/EU. Where they do, this is covered by appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement).

How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards. Trial “demo” data is deleted automatically when it expires. Enquiry details are kept while we follow up and for a reasonable period after. You can ask us to delete your data sooner — see your rights below.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to: see the data we hold about you; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; get a copy to take elsewhere; and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email privacy@psastudio.org and we’ll respond within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

Lintel uses only essential cookies and local browser storage — to keep you logged in and remember basic preferences. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.
